If you are a keen gardener or a local artist living in the QPARA area or close to the park, why not open your garden or house (or both!) to the public for Queen’s Park Open Gardens and Studios on Sunday 19th June?

With Spring approaching, there is still time to get your garden in shape or produce that masterpiece, ready for this hugely successful event that has taken place in our area every two years since 1998. Please contact aszalanczi@hotmail.co.uk by 1 March 2016 for details of how to take part.

Admittance on 19 June will be strictly ticket-only with tickets going on sale at local outlets and the Farmers Market in the weeks before the event. As well as entrance to all the gardens and studios, the ticket price includes a full colour guide to the day and a much-needed cup of tea and slice of home-made cake in the lovely tea garden, where you can rest your feet and listen to live music from local players and singers. Tickets bought in advance will cost £5 for adults and children over 12, £1 for children 5-12. Entrance for children under 5 will be free. There will be a £1 supplement for tickets bought on the day.

Any surplus funds will be used by the organisers to contribute to the greening of the Queen’s Park area. Previous events have funded planting outside Queen’s Park tube station, at the police station, Queens Studios, St Eugene’s Court and Christmas lighting.
