  • Kilburn Neighbourhood Forum

The Kilburn Neighbourhood Forum applied to the London Boroughs of Brent and Camden to be formally re-designated as a neighbourhood forum, in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act (1990) and the Neighbourhood Planning regulations. The Forum was first designated in 2016. Neighbourhood Forum designations expire after five years.

The application was consulted on between 4th November and 17th December 2021. Following consideration of responses, both Councils approved the application. This means the Kilburn Neighbourhood Forum will be able to continue the preparation of a neighbourhood plan in their area.

  • QPARA is commenting on the Brent Local Plan

Comments on the Brent Local Plan are due on 3rd January. Richard Johnson, QPARA’s Planning lead, has been wading through it and noting its impact on our Area. He updated the December monthly meeting and asked for members to read the plan and email him their comments. He will be prepare QPARA’s response – we will put on the website for members to see.

The Council prepared the plan following consultation between February and March this year, building on the policy options set out previously. A “Preferred Options” document divides the borough into seven distinct “Places” to create specific guidance for improving each area. It also explains the preferred policy options relating to housing, employment and transport.

  • QPARA comments on Brent’s document on Basements

The subject of basements has been much discussed at QPARA meetings for a number of years. In response to representations, Brent produced a draft Basement Supplementary Planning Document in February which it issued for comment. You can read  QPARA’s response here. We understand that the finalised document and a summary of consultation comments will be taken to the Council’s cabinet for consideration.
