  • Summerfield Avenue, Dudley Road Traffic Management Changes

    Update

Brent’s deadline for consultation response or comment if you have not been directly consulted has just been extended to 13th March.

Brent is proposing a 6-month trial scheme to stop west to east traffic flow though the avenues at the southern end of Salusbury Road in the morning rush hour. QPARA considers the plans should be widely known.

The suggestion, arising from a petition from understandably concerned residents, is to ban cars (but not cycles) turning from Kingswood Avenue into Summerfield, Montrose and Hopefield Avenues between the hours of 7 & 10, Monday to Friday.

At the moment only residents of Summerfield, Dudley, Montrose, Hopefield and the adjacent stretches of Kingswood, Salusbury & Harvist are being officially consulted. QPARA has been invited to respond as well.

  • A thank-you message from Richard Gentry

Richard was the Park Manager for Queen’s Park for 15 years until September 2022. QPARA made a presentation to him and his wife at the meeting in January. He has written to thank us. “Good evening Flavia,

Could I pass on my thanks and gratitude to you as the Chair of QPARA and QPARA members.

Celia and I were delighted with the picture of the Queen’s Park Bandstand and the flowers which we received at the last meeting. The picture will take pride of place in our new abode.

As supporters of dog rehoming charities a contribution will be made in due course. We appreciate the generosity of members.

We’ve enjoyed our time in Queen’s Park and have felt accepted as part of the wider Queen’s Park community. We will miss the ‘vibe’ of the area, and the friendliness and kindness of residents and park users.

We plan on coming along to the larger park events. Someone has to help move those tables and put the gazebos up.

We will miss the Park and QPARA members dearly.

I’m sure that my colleagues will continue to deliver a Green Flag, Green Heritage and London in Bloom award winning park.

Once again, thank you all, with kind thoughts and happy memories.

    Richard and Celia Gentry.”
